Art Supervisors Association/ BOCES Professional Development Workshop JFK High School, Room 205 4 PM - 6 PM Participants will be taught how to create closed form pinch pots out of clay and shape them into skulls evocative of the Sugar Skulls made during Dìa de los Muertos. Participants will learn about Dìa de los Muertos as well as carving and designing techniques for their skulls. Participants will use kiln fired clay, but can adapt the lesson to use air dry clay. Lesson can be adapted for elementary through high school.s. Below you will find the lesson plan, resources, and rubric.
